Deciding on the right habitat takes several factors into consideration such as: budget, space, features and manufacture support.

Bearded Dragons can reach up to 24 inches by 18 months if fed properly, making it essential to invest in a larger enclosure from the start. Many people are enticed to buy a 20 gallon starter tank, but with their rapid growth, they’ll outgrow it quickly, forcing you to buy new equipment 2 to 3 times. It is often forgotten with the excitement of a new pet that the kit is that, a starting item for baby dragons.

I recommend starting with the largest size possible, based on the purchase size of the dragon and what your space/budget will allow.

It is best to use a front opening terrarium vs a top opening due to their "third eye". Also known as the parietal eye, is a small, light-sensitive organ located on the top of their head. While it doesn’t provide detailed vision, it does help the Bearded Dragon sense shadows or movement above, alerting it to the presence of predators.
